About Us

As previously stated, Troop 832 was chartered in 1990 and has had a commitment to the young men in its program and the community since that time.  We strive to be able to provide the young men of Troop 832 with a quality scouting program.

  • We draw students from Blessed Sacrament Huguenot as well as Powhatan Elementary School, Flat Rock Elementary School, Pocahontas Middle School, Powhatan Middle School, and Powhatan High School.
  • Right now we have 50 active Boy Scouts along with a support group of adult leaders.
  • In addition to the Scoutmaster we have 15 Assistant Scoutmasters and a Troop Committee consisting of 10 more adult leaders.
  • We run a balanced Scouting Program with Hiking and Camping events balancing out over the year.
  • We run a Boy Lead Troop.
  • Several important events each year are our Webelo Crossover Weekend, Summer Camp, and our Christmas Court of Honor.
  • We conduct several Service projects each year to provide opportunities for the boys to serve their community and and others.  We have been involved in the James River Clean Up, Scouting for Food, Powhatan Relay for Life, Powhatan Pantry Food Drive, as well as a host of other events each year.
  • We also provide fundraiser opportunities for the Scouts throughout the year so that they learn to earn their own way as well as help out with outings and Summer Camp fees.
